Basic Ring Psychology:
There are 7 keys to a match, and these should be included in every match.
Intro-Your entrance. If someone in the audience doesn't know who you are, this can be one of the most important steps. You are introducing your gimmick to them, giving them an idea of your identity, who you are. It can be whatever your heart desires, but don't just walk out there stone faced and expect to get over with the crowd. Charisma cant be taught, but there are cheap ways of getting over. Baby faces, show the crowd some love, get personal with them. Don't throw your hand out expecting people to slap it, if they throw their hands out, show them love. Heels, once again, get personal. Talk trash, shoot dirty looks, anything an not a very nice person would do, do it (within reason of course)
Opening-This is the opening of the match. May ways to do this, heel attack while the baby is jabbering with the crowd, traditional lock up, test of strength, pose-off, (if its a heated rivalry, babyface may get the jump on the heel), stare down, etc. This is all up to you, but the ones I mentioned are the most common.
Shine-This is where the babyface is in control. Getting the crowd behind him/her with some big moves, or gimmick moves. Remember, its a "sport" always try to go for the win, pin attempts after big moves or combinations are key. Heel powders out to "take a breather" and stop the babyfaces momentum. For the baby, this is the perfect time to work the crowd.
Heat-The heel takes over. A good idea is to target a body part, and work on it. Try to focus on that one body part. It shows the fans that the baby is weak in that area, and could possibly lose because of it. Heels work at their speed, take time and "enjoy" the damage your inflicting, work the crowd in between sequences. The babyface is at your mercy here, but remember to go for pin attempts. Everytime the baby kicks out, it shows the fans the fire that the baby has, building to your comeback. Speaking of which, false comebacks are awesome if you have the crowd in the palm of your hands. Let the baby get some offense in, a few moves, but cut him off before they get to much momentum.
Comeback-This is pretty self explanatory. The babyface makes his comeback with a flurry of high impact moves, and in this time, the babyface is unstoppable. Fans get behind someone who has taken a beating and can come back to make it an even fight.
Finish-Once again, self explanatory. Some promoters have certain finishes they want, listen to them. If they tell you to come up with a finish, thats all on you and who is in the match. Normally, the person going over will decide how they want to finish it, but if you are in the ring with a veteran, its best to do what they tell you. Also, dont forget about roll ups. These are great for surprise finishes. Example, you and your opponent keep countering each others finishes, set up your finish, let them reverse it, then counter that with a roll up.
Outro-Your celebration. Heels, rub it in the fans face that their hero didn't win, put yourself over. Babys, celebrate with the fans. Show them love as you leave the arena. You may not think this is important, but fans remember how you act. This can carry over to your next match or appearance.
