You can send “PWI 500” info to PWI500@sepublications.com or c/o Frank Krewda, 6198 Butler Pike, Suite 200, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Also included are photo, ratings, and arena reports guidelines. Please read them carefully before submitting. Thanks for all your submissions!!!
Once again, it is time for this year’s edition of the Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “PWI 500.” Information for the “PWI 500” will be due to us by June 1, 2011 and will be published in the October 2011 issue.
Enclosed, please find a guideline detailing what information we need to have your wrestlers considered for the “PWI 500.” Please include information that is specifically relevant to the past year (June 2010-May 2011) as well as brief biographical information. Also remember that many of the readers have not seen a lot of the independent stars, so try to offer as much analytical insight as possible. The final ranking will be published in the October 2010 issue of PWI, on sale August 2, 2011.
Again, please note that the information for the “PWI 500” is due Wednesday, June 1, 2011. The information must be either e-mailed to PWI500@sepublications.com or faxed to (215) 628-3571 by the above dates. If you cannot e-mail or fax your entries, please send them as soon as possible to the address listed above.
You may submit any professional-quality posed or action photos for both issues to the street address provided at the top of this letter. It is recommended that you send good, clearly focused, professionally printed, color photos that have been taken with a regular film camera. Most commercial digital cameras cannot produce the quality of photo that we need. Please send us professionally printed photos. Photos printed from a computer printer are not usable. Also, it is recommended that you do not send photos via e-mail. Any electronic photos that are not at least 2500 x 2500 pixels—or 5” x 7” at 300 dpi—cannot be used. If you are unfamiliar with such terminology, we ask that you simply send prints..
Please supply us with the requested information and do not send just a link to your Web site. Due to the volume of material, we cannot look at websites for any information. Also, be aware that due to the excessive number of entries we receive for the “PWI 500”, there is no guarantee that any particular wrestler will be ranked. So we’re counting on your honest assessments of the wrestlers who you feel should be included.
With your help, we strive to increase the exposure of your wrestlers and promotion. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us make our annual edition successful.
Sincerely,
Frank Krewda
Editor–In-Chief,
Pro Wrestling Illustrated

TO BE INCLUDED IN THE NEWS COLUMNS OF
OUR VARIOUS MAGAZINES:
The information we receive will be utilized in our news columns and on our “PWI Hotline.” When sending information as an e-mail, please do not send it as an attached file. If you must send it as an attached file, please save it in a universal text file. We use a Macintosh platform for our editorial needs and some IBM-compatible programs are unreadable with our word processing program. If we can’t translate the information, we can’t use it. We ask that you please send all items of this nature to PWIResults@yahoo.com.
TO BE INCLUDED IN “ARENA REPORTS” AND “RATINGS”:
The “Arena Reports” section of Pro Wrestling Illustrated is complied on a daily basis from the e-mails we receive. Please note that there is a very limited amount of space in the magazine that is dedicated to these reports, so we must limit the number of reports that are used for each promotion. Please type results and ratings directly into the email. Do not copy and paste from another document. Also, please do not send results through U.S. mail or fax as they will now be disregarded, and please use the following formats we require for consideration of results and ratings (please note capitalization, spacing, and formatting requirements, i.e. bold and plain text):
—RESULTS:
CALIFORNIA

For each result, we need the date, town, state, promotion name, and building where the card was held, quick match results [example: Wrestler A pinned Wrestler B] as well as all relevant information. We prefer to have the outcome of the match listed in the first sentence of a detailed match description. Please include any title changes, injuries, and angle information. Just always remember, if we can’t read it, we can’t report it. Using all capital letters, no capital letters, misspellings, abbreviations, run-on sentences, etc. are all reasons for us to not include the item.
(NOTE: Please do not use abbreviations, ie: "with" should not be "w/", "defeated" should not be "def.", and "disqualification" should not be "DQ." Only use an ampersand between the names of tag team competitors. Also, spell out numbers from one to nine. We also may disregard any report sent in all capital letters, all lower case letters, or in a format that is difficult to decipher. Please also omit any unnecessary nicknames, titles, and match details.)
—RATINGS:
American Pro Wrestling: Champion—Boomer Payne; 1—Mark Slain; 2—Ken Magnum; 3—Chief Jay Eagle; 4—Mickey Richards; 5—Rowdy James; 6—Shane Austin; 7—Zack Salvation; 8—Nick Fury; 9—Doug Hawkins; 10—Bill White.
Please include the heavyweight champion plus the top 10 contenders. We need the
weight and hometown for each ranked wrestler. For the sake of timeliness, the placement of the ratings is determined by whatever magazine we are producing when we receive them.
Please understand that, due to an overwhelming amount of submission for these sections, only so many can be included in the publications. The most recent submissions in the proper formats will be considered first. We will also try to alternate our selections from month to month so that every federation has an opportunity to be in the magazines.
TO HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS INCLUDED IN OUR MAGAZINES:
—Professional-quality, full-color printed or slide photographs (both action and posed) taken with a regular film camera are preferred. Action shots should be taken from the ring apron and in focus. All photos must be clearly identified. It is recommended that you send photos that have been taken with a regular film camera and not a digital camera. Most commercial digital cameras can not produce the quality of photo that we need. Photos must also be printed by a professional photo processing place. Do not send us photos that have been printed from a home computer/printer. Also, it is recommended that you do not send photos via e-mail. You may submit photos on a burned CD. We will not accept electronic images smaller than 2500 x 2500 pixels—or 5” x 7” at 300 dpi.
NOTE ABOUT FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHERS:
—We rarely send photographers to independent events, which is why we ask promotions to assist with submitting photographs. If we do send a photographer, the promoter will be notified by Frank Krewda that a certain photographer has been assigned to the show. That photographer will also have a copy of the correspondence between Frank and the promoter to verify the assignment. The promoter will also be given a contact number in case of problems or concerns. If you are not contacted by Frank, the photographer is not shooting the show for us and we most likely will not receive the photos. People misrepresenting themselves as PWI photographers has become a concern for us. This unauthorized use of our name for credentials only deceives promoters and wrestlers and ultimately affects the positive work that we try to do here at PWI.
